Craftacular Craftnight II–This Time It’s Personal

November 30th, 2010

That’s right, our first Craft Night was such a success–thanks to the one person who came out–that we’ve decided to do it all over again. This time, we hope to DOUBLE OUR NUMBERS.

This time it’s Holiday Craft Sweat Shop. We’ll be forcing you to sit your butts down (that’s right, butts, in the plural, because more than one person will show up this time) and force you to make progress on those gifts you’ve let lay fallow. But of course, force you in a gentle fun way, fueled by immense amounts of caffeine.

December 13th
at the Summit (780 Valencia, or something like that, corner of Valencia/19th)
8p-probably around 3 in the morning, is my guess, you’ll never want to stop

Be there. Or…don’t. I guess. Up to you. But you better show up this time!

This man-puppet will force you to craft all night.

It is better to receive than to give. So bring it.

Tomorrow, your blessed sovereign will be winging her way on Royal Chimp Airlines (basically a carriage borne by two flying monkeys) to the fabled land of Chic-a-go to confer with that land’s elders. This also corresponds with the Giving of Thanks.

And here the Princess is hit with a conundrum. She has fashioned a loverly pair of mittens from her new fave book, Vampire Knits. These are intended for her friend Amanda as a hostess gift. However, they are made from luscious Cascade Alpaca chunky twist yarn in grey/turquoise. And they are indeed so warm and so fabulous that the Princess has thoughts of keeping them. Why, Amanda would never know! The Princess could merely reward her for her hospitality with a deed to lands in the Foreboding Forest. What do you think, smart readers? Should the Princess be deliciously selfish? Remember, she is off to land of ice and snow and wind and pissing cold rain. Or should she do the right thing? Remember that often the last sign of freezing to death is a delerium that you are in fact on fire and you take off all your clothes and run around and then die. So in the process of freezing to death, the mittens could be shed by someone. Keep that in mind as you respond.

The mittens from the book. How young! How fresh!

My belissima knits, or, I mean, Amanda's. In the psychotic turquoise/grey twist.
